Private hiking adventure through two beautiful regions in Germany and France.
Duration: 10 days / 9 nights

From the Black Forest in Germany to the Alsace in France. On this hike you will experience the charm of small villages, densely forested hills and sunny valleys. Gourmets will be rewarded with culinary delights and excellent wines.

Freiburg i.Br. is young and friendly and awaits you with a lot of heart and coziness. \ The idyllic Titisee is ideal for strolling and swimming and is only 30 km from Freiburg i.Br.

Colmar is a pretty little town and impresses with picturesque half-timbered houses, romantic canals, flower-decorated windows, winding alleys and a tasty cuisine.

Travel details

Itinerary
1st day: Zurich to Hinterzarten
Individual arrival in Zurich. Meet your tour guide at the airport and transfer by private coach to Hinterzarten, Black Forest in Germany. Village stroll in Hinterzarten. Overnight in Hinterzarten.

2nd day: The Feldberg Nature Reserve (3 h)
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning take the train and local postal bus to the Feldberg pass and walk through the nature reserve. You will pass mountain forests, down to the glacial Lake Feldsee. In the afternoon you continue to walk down the Seebach valley. Return by train to Hinterzarten. Overnight in Hinterzarten.

3rd day: Freiburg i.Br. (2h)
Breakfast at the hotel. Train ride to Freiburg i. Br., the capital of the Black Forest Region. During the walk, see the famous cathedral built in 1120 AD. A local city guide will inform you about the past and present of the Black Forest capital. The afternoon is at your disposal. Return by train to Hinterzarten on your own. Overnight in Hinterzarten.

4th day: Titisee (2h)
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning travel by train to Titisee and enjoy an idyllic hiking path around the stunning Titisee. We take the opportunity to swim in the Alemannenhof, where you can enjoy a piece of traditional Black Forest cake. If time allows, there is the possibility of a boat trip on the lake. Return by train to Hinterzarten. Overnight in Hinterzarten.

5th day: Black Forest to Alsace (2h30)
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning travel by private coach from Black Forest to Alsace. On the way visit the almost intact fortress Neuf-Brisach, built at the end of the 17th century. Continue by coach to your hotel in Turckheim. Village stroll with your tour guide. Overnight in Turckheim.

6th day: Colmar (2h)
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning travel by train to Colmar. Guided city tour through the charming historical center with countless treasures from the middle ages to the 20th century. Visit of the Bartholdi Museum. The afternoon is at your disposal. Return by train to Turckheim on your own. Overnight in Turckheim.

7th day: The Alsace vineyards and castles (3h30)
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning private coach to the Château Haut-Koenigsbourg. Built in the 12th century, this castle has witnessed eight centuries of European conflicts and rivalries between lords, kings and emperors. An organic lunch buffet will be waiting in Katzenthal. After lunch, experience the wines first-hand. Following the wine tasting hike back in the vineyards to the hotel. Overnight in Turckheim.

8th day: The World War I battlefield (3h)
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning private coach to Le Linge, a French battlefield where a major conflict of WWI took place. Here you visit a field lecture and the interesting museum. In the afternoon take a walk in the "Ballons des Voges," a protected area made up of woodland, pasture, wetland, farmland and historical sites. Return by private bus to your hotel. Overnight in Turckheim.

9th day: Turckheim to Zurich (1h30)
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning private coach to Château du Hohlandsbourg. Take a walk past the three Castles of Eguisheim, offering a magnificent panorama. Short visit and individual lunch in Eguisheim, elected as the most beautiful village in France in 2013. In the afternoon transfer by private coach to Zurich and check-in at your airport hotel. Overnight in Zurich Kloten.

10th day: Departure
After breakfast independent shuttles to the airport for your flight home and end of the tour.

Adjustment of programs remains reserved due to unforeseeable circumstances (weather, train schedule changes etc.). Hikes and hiking duration can change due to client's health and fitness.
