**Let your eyes wander over Belgrade from the fortress in Kalmegdan Park and start your city trip adventure from here.
Architecture in the course of time
Rent a bike or walk - the sights of Belgrade are within easy reach. As an architecture lover you will get your money's worth. There you will find magnificent buildings from the Austro-Hungarian K+K period, which could just as well be in Vienna or Budapest. But you will also find masterly remnants in the monumental brutalistic style of the socialist era such as the Serbian Palace or the Museum of Yugoslavian History. This includes, of course, Tito's mausoleum, which held the multi-ethnic state of Yugoslavia together for decades.
Lively art scene
Don't miss the Mikser House in the Savamala district. This is the epicentre of young creative people. The former department store not only hosts events and exhibitions, it also houses a bar, café and shop. Savamala is a cool place to stroll. Wall paintings and spontaneous summer outdoor events vie for your attention.
An island to relax on
Southwest of the centre of Belgrade lies the picturesque river island of Ada Ciganlija, also known as the "Beach of Belgrade". In this oasis of peace you can relax and take a refreshing swim in the river in hot summer.
Cafes and Restaurants
Everything in Belgrade is much cheaper than in our country. That doesn't stop at the cafés and restaurants, of which there are countless. But beware: in the city centre it can get more expensive and not necessarily better. Stick to the authentic quarters of Savamela and Dorcol. There are also some new restaurants and bars on the banks of the river Save, where you can sit outside and enjoy the view with a cool beer.
Party stronghold
The Serbian metropolis has been an insider tip of the party scene for years. This is no coincidence, as the Serbs love to celebrate. The Angbeot is no longer limited to the mainland. The clubs shot underground and on boats on the Save like mushrooms out of the ground. The bars and restaurants in the Dorcol district are rather cozy with lots of outdoor places.
