Farewell to decayed charm. Porto is redesigned.
Arrival to Porto
The flight time to Porto is relatively short and therefore an ideal destination for a city trip on a long weekend.
Discover Porto
The capital of the north, as Porto is affectionately called by the locals, is the second largest city in Portugal after Lisbon and lies on the Douro, which flows west of Porto into the Atlantic Ocean.
Old Town Ribeira
Porto is mystical and enchanting in one and has become a popular tourist destination. The picturesque old town of Ribeira, the numerous baroque churches and the Sao Bento railway station with its beautiful traditional tiles are well worth a visit.
Culinary Porto
Do not forget the delicious port wine, which comes from the surroundings of Porto. Visit the town of Vila Nova de Gaia and take part in one of the many tasting tours on offer.
Finish off the evening with a glass of port wine and a hearty Francesinha (a sandwich with various meats and spicy ingredients - a speciality of Porto).
