History
Valencia has an eventful history. The Roman consul Dezimus Junius Brutus founded "Valentia Edetanorum" in 138 BC, which served as a settlement for retired legionaries. Thanks to the favourable location of two important trade routes, the town developed into an important trading centre.

This masterpiece of modernist architecture was inaugurated by King Alfonso XIII after 10 years of construction (1916 - 1926).
